where可以視為conjunction 後面接的是一個clause
但是where和後面的clause 整個是island的補語

因為which不是conjunction 他後面接的並不是完整的clause
在這題which和where他們的功能不同 因為指的東西不同
你這個例子其實不好
因為第一句的island是location 第二句的SF是subject 這無法比較的
你試著將這兩句分別都拆成兩句話來看 就知道我的意思
在同樣修飾"地方"的時候 ("地方"的角色必須是location)
where = preposition + which
如果你要把preposition搬到句末也可以
