  看看do not have後面加的是什麼呢?> "fail" 在這fail是動詞 have和fail要用to
  隔開 所以要用do not have to

: 3)Jeff had always been thinking he would became a doctor, but his parents
:                                    ____________
: wanted him to study law instead of medicine.

  would是will的過去式 祈使句 etc..在這是jeff一直以為他會變成醫生
  要用he would have become (與事實相反 沒變成)

: 4)We're waiting in this line for over an hour; at this rate, there won’t be
:      __________
: any more tickets by the time we get to the window.

  是"我們正在這等一小時" 或者 "我們己經等一小時" 呢?
  從語意上來看 是後者 而be ving是前者現在進行式
  後者就要用 we have been waiting (持續進行)

推 chenchuhao:個人覺得第三題接would become也能解釋耶~
→ chenchuhao:因為句子內容只是陳述過去的想法和事實...
→ chenchuhao:實際上並沒有說JEFF現在不是醫生...
→ chenchuhao:而且假如那時候JEFF對自己的未來想當醫生的願望就使用
→ chenchuhao:would have become 的語氣,不就等於是那時否定自己?
→ chenchuhao:畢竟第一段句子是再陳述過去一直以來的想法...強調事實
→ chenchuhao:的陳述的意味不重~
