Old Italic alphabet, derived from the Greek alphabet. In the 9th or 8th
century BC Latin was brought to the Italian peninsula by the migrating Latins
who settled in Latium, around the River Tiber, where Roman civilization would

簡單講，羅馬只是拉丁人建立的諸多城邦中的一個。拉丁人及拉丁語這兩個名詞的出現，
應該是比羅馬的興起還要早。
