[問題] at the other end 這邊的語意

剛才看NBA轉播，聽到現場播報員講了一句at the other end

完整的句子是說：

Dudley 剛被Belinelli 犯規, at the other end, 現在Dudley 對Belinelli犯規

我google了一下，沒有讓我覺得很通暢的解釋

請問在這邊的用法，是當作武俠小說那種：「另外一方面...」的意思嗎？
