New York bar exam also has the performance test. the difference is that the
NYBX adopts one Multistate Performance Test (MPT) formulated by the National
Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE), which also produces MPRE and MBE section
of the bar exam in majority of the states. California, by contrast, has its
own performance test. The MPT adpoted in the NYBX is only single question,
usually allowed 90 min to answer, whereas in CBX there are 2 PTs, each of one
lasts for 3 full hours. So the materials in the CBX are significantly more
than that in NYBX. Therefore, passing NYBX means you studied hard and your
English is not bad, while passing CBX means you studied very very hard, command
excellent English proficiency and possess outstanding ability of endurance.
