第一階段獲選的同學需繳交一份英文文章，說明你對genomics or/and genetics的了解
以及你的英文能力。

The winner of the Sanger Institute Prize will be offered a
three-month internship with a research group at the
Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute during the Summer of 2012

*The Prize is an opportunity to experience the very cutting edge of
 genomic research.
*The competition is an outreach prize, open to undergraduate students
 from low and middle income countries.
*Entrants should have a strong interest in genomics and a good
 command of English.

The 2012 competition will run in two stages:
1.For the first stage, you are asked to write a short statement detailing
  what you think you could gain from the internship.
2.Those shortlisted will then be invited to participate in the second stage;
  writing an essay. The essay must demonstrate an understanding and
  insight into genetics and/or genomics as well as a proficiency in the
  use of the English language.

**The deadline for the first stage is 5 December 2011.
