Made some fine blocks and his catching was clean but got completely duped by
Berbatov for the stunning overhead kick and did not get near Nani's
thunderous drive that crashed off the bar.

Glen Johnson 6.0
Always busy and his pace and dribbling was a constant threat to United. His
defending was unconvincing at times

Jamie Carragher 6.0
As whole-hearted as ever and made some fine interceptions but was treading
water when United turned on the style after the break.

Martin Skrtel 5.5
There is a desperation to some of his defending that makes him an
unconvincing performer against the very best and looked very shaky at times.

Paul Konchesky 6.0
Just about held his own in a fascinating duel with Nani and, although he got
in some promising positions, the left-back's delivery was often wasteful.

Raul's inclusion has not only made it probably the baldest Liverpool side in
history but the most tatooed. There was evidence of some decoration in the
Portugese's footwork in an advanced role just off Torres and he nearly made
himself an Anfield cult hero by sealing the comeback with a

Roamed the midfield without ever commanding it. Grew less tentative in
possession as the game progressed and made some important clearances when
United threw the kitchen sink at the visitors.

Few signs in this iconic fixture that he has come any closer to understanding
the unique rhythms of Premier League football. Rarely made his presence felt
and inevitably substituted after an hour.

Shook Liverpool out of their lethargy by leading his team's comeback with two
clinically dispatched set-piece goals. Expected to be the conduit between
Torres and the midfield, the Liverpool skipper led the charge from deep and
was far tidier in possession than his colleagues. Magnificent composure for
his penalty and shrewd free-kick.

Joe Cole 6.0
After threatening to get sucked into no-man's land early on, showed an
eagerness to get involved and was convincing when he ran with the ball.

Fernando Torres 7.0
Diabolical? His marking of Berbatov for United's opener certainly was and his
touch throughout was heavy but the shining light was that there were signs
that his searing pace over the first five yards is returning. Won the fouls
for both the penalty and the free-kick.
