風流雲散 Wind flows as clouds part
一別如雨 Away, like the rain
人生實難 Life is truly hard
願其弗與 As wishes go ungranted
君子信誓 Gentlemen’s promise
不遷于時 never waivers with time
及子同寮 With your camaraderie
生死固之 through life and death remains
何以贈行 What to gift the traveler?
言授斯詩 To you this poem
中心孔悼 From core of my heart springs emptiness and sorrow,
涕淚漣洏 and tears flow in streams.
嗟爾君子 Oh Dearest thou!
如何勿思 How to stop my longing?
note: AD 192, From the most acclaimed poet of his age to a dear friend
returning to that friend’s home country. The departing man who is the
receipient of this poem became prime minister afterwards.
Le vent soufflé, la nuage partir
Abandonner, comme la pluie
La vie est vraiment difficile
Les désirs ne sont pas non concédées
Les garanties de ces messieurs,
ils n'ont jamais faiblir avec le temps
L'esprit de camaraderie avec vous
est maintenu à travers la vie et la mort.
Quel cadeau pour offrir au voyageur?
