According to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic, Kevin Mulvey is the PTBNL
in last week's trade for Jon Rauch.
Of course, Mulvey was also part of the trade that sent ace Johan Santana to
the Mets. The Villanova product was 5-8 with a 3.93 ERA in 24 starts with
Triple-A Rochester this season. The 24-year-old also made two appearances
with the Twins in July, allowing four runs over 1 1/3 innings. If he can
manage to maintain a high groundball rate, he has a chance of sticking as a
No. 4 starter in the majors.
