But after some last-minute discussions between Gardenhire and general manager Bill Smith, the Twins wound up making a roster addition after all. Infielder Brian Buscher was promoted from Triple-A Rochester and he was expected to join the club sometime on Tuesday night. While Buscher has been playing through a sore thumb at Rochester, Gardenhire felt that he needed another infielder on the bench. Matt Tolbert has been sidelined with swelling in his knee, so Buscher was the logical choice to bring up at this time. "As I told Billy, we have two catchers on the bench and one infielder and one outfielder," Gardenhire said. "We need another player ... Buscher's been playing every day down there. Just bring him back up here. We need him up here." The Twins still expect to call up Tolbert once his knee has healed, and Anthony Swarzak, who gave up four runs in 2 1/3 innings for Rochester on Sunday, could also be an option once Rochester's season ends on Sept. 7. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.231.96.25
