FORT MYERS, FLA. -- The Twins signed reliever Glen Perkins today to a
three-year, $10.3 million extension that includes an option for 2016.

Perkins, 29, already was under contract for $1.55 million this year. He would
have been eligible for free agency after the 2013 season. His new deal
includes incentives for games finished, starting in 2013, so he’ll be
compensated if he moves into the closer’s role.

This deal shows how far Perkins has come with the organization. It was just
three years ago that he filed a grievance against the team to recoup lost
service time.

雙城與左投Glen Perkins簽下三年10.3M的延長合約

Perkins今年的薪水是1.55M，新合約將會讓雙城綁住他到2015年，另外有16年的選擇權

這份延長合約將會覆蓋Perkins最後一年的仲裁年及兩個FA年

Perkins去年在擔任第八局的set-up man後獲得相當的成功

據傳球團也有意讓Perkins在未來轉任為closer

同時，Perkins也決定將他的部分薪水回饋給他的母校明尼蘇達大學及雙城的社區基金會
