紅拂女姓張，原本是江南人氏，由于南朝戰亂，隨父母流落長安，迫於生計，賣入司空楊素府中成為歌妓，因喜手執紅色拂塵，故稱作「紅拂女」。紅拂女是唐代名妓，更因為獨具慧眼，辨識了兩位英雄人物，一位是她的夫君李靖，另一位是她的結拜兄長虯髯客，三人結為莫逆之交，一同在風塵亂世中施展才華，被人們敬傳為“風塵三俠”。
