Managers, announcers and pundits preach that the key to pitching is throwing
strikes.
But throwing too many strikes isn't always a good thing. Plenty of big-league
hurlers throw strikes and get punished for it.

Yes, theoretically, life is easier on pitchers who operate with better
control. However, there's a difference between control and command. No, this
isn't meant to conjure up memories of "White Men Can't Jump" -- specifically,
a "you may listen to Jimi, but you don't hear Jimi" semantics debate.
是的，理論上，對投手而言只有好一點的控球投起球來就會比較簡單。但是控制
(Control)和掌控(Command)還是有差異的。不，這不是意味著讓你想起記憶中的 "
白人跳不高"的詭辯 － 特別是，"你可能聽過Jimi Hendrix, 但卻沒有聽到Jimi Hendrix"

So much for doing the right thing.
There's reason to be hopeful, though. Milwaukee's Dave Bush and Cleveland's
Paul Byrd -- while flawed -- are still closer to success than their numbers
indicate. And unlike the Daniel Cabreras of the world, at least they have
some idea where the ball is going.
要做對的事情還有很多的要件。
雖然是有理由對這些投手有點期待。釀酒人的Dave Bush和印地安人的Paul Byrd
-- 即便是投得有點瑕疵 -- 但仍然相當接近於他們數字所表現的這麼成功。而且他們
不是像是Daniel Cabreras連球投往那個方向都搞不定，至少他們知道把球投往那個方
向還有點概念。
The difference between control and command is the difference between throwing
strikes and throwing quality strikes. Once Bush, Byrd and the gang bridge
that gap, they'll command their own destinies.
控制(Control)和掌控(Command)的差異在於一者是投進好球帶，另一是則是投出有
品質的好球。除非Bush, Byrd和他們相類型的投手可以彌補兩者之間的差異，他們才可
以掌控他們的命運。
