PUJOLS RELEASES STATEMENT, NOT UPSET AT TALKS
Albert Pujols released a statement Wednesday night about his failed
negotiations with the Cardinals.
"After spending the last few weeks working toward an extension, we've
suspended our conversations with the Cardinals, due to this morning's
self-imposed deadline," Pujols wrote. "Once the 2011 season is over,
we hope to revisit those talks." Albert then asked for the media to
be respectful toward his privacy during spring training and the regular
season. He doesn't want to be berated with questions about his impending
free agency.
