Bautista was behind 0-2 in the count when Arrieta came high and inside with a fastball. The ball struck Bautista in the helmet and he immediately dropped to the ground. Blue Jays manager John Farrell ran onto the field with head trainer George Poulis. Bautista remained on the ground before eventually getting to his knees as he was evaluated by the medical staff. The 30-year-old Bautista then left the field under his own power.
