The Rangers have placed RHP Neftali Feliz on the disabled list Monday
afternoon with an undisclosed elbow injury three days after he had bouts of 
wildness in a start against Houston.

Feliz did not travel with the team to Seattle and instead underwent an MRI in
Arlington, the results of which have not been disclosed. Rangers GM Jon
Daniels is on a flight to Seattle and was unavailable for comment. He was
scheduled to arrive at approximately 5 p.m. CT.

Feliz reportedly complained of soreness after the Friday start against the
Astros. In the Astros start in which he walked five batters, Feliz's velocity
wasn't terribly down - usually a giveaway of an elbow problem. He averaged
94.2 mph whereas he's averaged 94.7 mph for the season. He did however throw
78 fastballs in 101 pitches, a much higher percentage than his usual 65.4
percent per start. The fastball doesn't place as much stress on the elbow as
other pitches.

The Rangers recalled RHP Yoshinori Tateyama from Triple-A Round Rock and are
expected to slide RHP Scott Feldman from the bullpen to the rotation. Feliz's
next scheduled start is Wednesday at Seattle. For now, the Rangers are not
listing a probable starter for Wednesday.

It's the second trip to the DL for Feliz, who missed two weeks with shoulder
inflammation last April 23-May 6..
