Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com was told by a rival club official that the
Dodgers will "do whatever it takes" to get Cole Hamels.

"They love him, and they're saying they'll do whatever it takes to get him,"
said the official. While they'll surely pursue Hamels if he's made available
at the trade deadline, the official is referring to the Dodgers going hard
after Hamels when he hits free agency. It's no surprise, as he'll be the
biggest free agent prize next offseason and the Dodgers have money to spend
with new ownership in place. Hamels is also from the Southern California area
and probably wouldn't mind heading home.
