A nervous Wei-Chung Wang seizes his opportunity

Phoenix – The mystery man so far in camp, Rule 5 draftee Wei-Chung Wang made a
solid first impression on Tuesday afternoon in the Milwaukee Brewers'intrasquad
scrimmage at Maryvale Baseball Park.

Making his debut in the bottom of the first, the left-hander got Jean Segura to
ground out to lead off and then walked Rickie Weeks to bring Ryan Braun to the plate.
Wang, in his first major-league spring training and having never pitched above
rookie league while with the Pittsburgh Pirates, got a real thrill by striking
Braun out swinging on a changeup.

"When he goes into the (on-deck) circle, I know he’s a popular player," said
Wang through translator Jay Hsu. "I wanted to strike him out. I felt so happy
I had a chance to face him."
He followed by walking Lyle Overbay before ending the inning with a called
third strike to Martin Maldonado.
"I was nervous before going out, but when I stood on the mound I felt OK. Maybe
too excited," Wang said. "Feel more comfortable for the next game."
Jonathan Lucroy caught Wang, and said he thought the 21-year-old fared well for
his first time out.

認為21歲的王維中的首場出賽進展的很不錯
"He's known as a control guy and his control was a little off," he said. "He
told me he was a little nervous afterward, which is to be expected."
Velocities weren't available, but Lucroy guessed Wang was in the 91-93 mph
range.
"他是控球型的選手 不過今天控球有些些的走樣" Lucroy說
"後來下場他告訴我 他有些緊張 但但這是預料當中的事"
這場測速槍不能使用 不過Lucroy猜測王速度大概在91~93mph之間
