: PHOENIX -- Rockies right-hander Chad Bettis arrived at Chase Field on Friday
: with his eyes and smile so bright that the chemotherapy-induced hair loss was
: a secondary appearance trait.

洛磯二號右投Bettis週五賽前來到響尾蛇主場Chase Field，雙眼明亮、笑容爽朗，讓人
第一時間不會注意到他因化療而掉光了頭髮。

: "This is what I needed," said Bettis, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer
: in November and underwent surgery, then learned during Spring Training that
: the cancer had spread to lymph nodes.

Bettis說，"這(到球場)就是我需要的。" 他在去年11月診斷出睪丸癌，手術拿掉一顆睪丸
後，原以為癌症已得到控制，卻在今年春訓時，發現癌細胞擴散到淋巴結。

: Bettis began chemotherapy on March 20 and has seven treatments left between now
: and May 16. His blood counts will then be monitored, and if all is well, the
: chemotherapy port will be removed.

Chad在3/20開始化療，到5/16還有七次療程要進行。在治療的同時，他的血液數據
也會被監控。如果一切順利，化療結束後，就能移除人工血管。

(譯注:因為化療藥物對血管刺激較大 所以需要在鎖骨下方放人工血管，給化療用)

: A return to the Majors this season is one of the goals for Bettis, who throws
: after treatments, as he did on Friday, with head athletic trainer Keith Dugger.

: Manager Bud Black was in a coaches' meeting when he heard a knock on the door
: -- "and there was Chad. A lot of guys' hugs," Black said.

本季重返大聯盟投手丘，是Bettis的目標之一。他做完治療都會試著丟球。週五來到球
場，他也跟首席體能訓練師Keith Dugger傳接球。

總教練Bud Black在開教練會議時，聽到敲門聲，"我一看，這不是Chad嘛，
好多人(看到他)都跑來跟他抱抱。"Black說道。

: Beyond the hair loss and a temporary loss of appetite and taste, Bettis says
: the procedure is "as smooth sailing as could possibly be."

: Bettis, who watches and analyzes every game, has been upbeat.

除了掉髮跟偶爾沒有食慾、味覺之外 (譯按:QQ)，Bettis認為整個療程順利地不得了。
而他會關注和分析每一場球賽，並且一直保持樂觀。

: "It's who I try to be and strive to be a little bit more now than before,"
: he said.
: He and his wife, Kristina, welcomed their first child, a daughter named
: Everleigh Rae, on March 29.

"那個我竭盡所能想成為的人，跟過去比起來，現在(的責任)要多得多了" Bettis這樣說

他跟他老婆Kristina上個月(3/29)才生下第一個女兒，名字叫做Everleigh Rae。

: : "The focus has switched from baseball to how can I provide for her and my
: wife," he said. "It's more now."

"我人生的重心原本是棒球，但現在，能夠對老婆跟女兒付出多少，才是我最關心的事。"
Chad說, "現在真的多得多了。"
