Two years ago around this time, just a few weeks before the start of Spring Trai
ning, Brent Rooker picked up his phone and called his agent Dustin Bledsoe to we
igh on a thought to potentially explore opportunities to play baseball in Japan.

和自己經紀人Dustin Bledsoe 討論去日本打球的可能性


By no means was this a crazy idea. Claimed off waivers by the Athletics from the
 Royals in November 2022, Rooker was about to join his fourth organization in a
three years after limited playing time with Minnesota, San Diego and Kansas City
.

當時他三年來流浪了四隻隊伍


Interest from Japanese clubs was heavy, with offers far exceeding what he might
get from the A’s even if he did make the club.

而日職對他的興趣非常濃厚

並開了一張很好的報價給他，比他在大聯盟球隊能賺的還多很多


“It’s been a whirlwind,” Rooker said. “Two years ago, the conversations I wa
s having with Dustin were, ‘Hey, do we want to call David and ask for our relea
se so we can try to go to Japan?’ That was a very real consideration.

Rooker：

兩年前我和Dustin（經紀人）的對話是

我們要不要打給David（總管），要球團把我釋出

讓我去日本？


Now, the conversation we were having was, ‘Hey, David wants to give you $60 mil
lion. Do you want that or no?” I was like, ‘Yeah, we should do that one.’"

兩年後變成

David想要給你6000萬美金，你要不要？

合約細節

$60M/5+opt 2030

簽約金 - $10M

$2M - 2025
$6M - 2026
$12M - 2027
$13M - 2028
$17M - 2029
$22M - 2030（條件選擇權）


條件選擇權觸發條件（兩項達成一項即可）

1. 2028-2029 打到900PA & 2029打到500PA
2. 2027-2029有兩次MVP票選前十


此外2030條件選擇權金額也有機會往上加

2025-2029的MVP票選

每一次 1-5  ： +2M
每一次 6-10 ： +1M

等於最高能到： $22M + 2M*5 = $32M

所以這張合約最高是92M/6Y
