龐巴迪運輸公司20日表示，芝加哥捷運局新下訂單，增購300輛低耗能捷運列車，合約金
額約3億3100萬美元。
芝加哥捷運局從2003年迄今，已向龐巴迪購買了706輛捷運列車，總金額約10億美元；龐
巴迪北美分公司總裁貝強特指出，龐巴迪非常樂意和芝加哥捷運局合作，提供現代化、具
效率和符合環保的交通工具給芝加哥市民乘坐。
龐巴迪公司表示，下一代捷運列車將是芝加哥捷運局第一批運用先進的反覆制動剎車系統
車隊，可降低耗能和維護成本。芝加哥捷運局同時證實，這一批5000系列新列車將在紐約
Plattsburgh工廠製造。
芝加哥捷運局負責管理全美國第二大公共交通運輸系統。

後來還比較過好幾篇英文報導，不過說真的內容幾乎都大同小異 (除了篇幅有差)

These next-generation rapid transit cars (known as the 5000-Series) will be
the first in CTA's fleet to utilize alternating current (AC) propulsion, a
technology that permits dynamic braking regeneration, lower energy and
maintenance costs, and improved reliability. The new fleet of cars also will
be equipped with an active suspension system to ensure that the car floor is
level with the station platform during boarding, allowing passengers to board
the train more easily. Other features of the new cars include greater
capacity, better communications systems, increased security and real-time
diagnostics to improve reliability.
這一代新車和舊車的差別除了上面提到的之外，大概就是首批使用交流電的列車這樣
剩下的看起來對台灣捷運來說，好像很多都不是新技術吧
話說300輛聽起來還蠻多的...
