70%的曼聯球迷支持FERGIE賣掉魯尼
Rooney is said to be angling for a move away from Old Trafford after instructing agent Paul Stretford to pull back from the negotiating table over a new contract.
But amid rumours of serious disagreements between Rooney and Ferguson, six out of ten United fans are backing their manager and think the England international should be sold.
According to the OnePoll.com survey, the same proportion of fans blame recent press reports about Rooney's private life for his dramatic slump in form.
And 70 per cent of supporters believe if the 24-year-old is holding out for a weekly wage of ￡150,000, as reported, he should be let go because he's not worth the money.
Rooney's potential suitors include United's local rivals Manchester City, who are said to be prepared to offer up to ￡50million in transfer fees and wages of around ￡250,000 a week.
However, the forward's alarming dip in form - which has seen him score just once this season after netting 34 goals in the last campaign - could prove a slight concern for any buyers.
