MIAMI (AFP) - Fredi Gonzalez signed a two-year contract extension to remain as
manager of the Florida Marlins through 2011, the Major League Baseball club
announced on Tuesday.
The 45-year-old is 155-168 through two seasons with the Marlins, including an
84-77 mark last year to become only the third manager to guide the team to a
winning record.
"We are extremely pleased to have Fredi continue his great work with our
organization," Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria said. "I look forward to future
success with Fredi at the helm."
