若 f 為可測函數，則 {x: f(x) ＝ α} 必為可測集 for all α. 但反之不成立。
(解釋)
命 P 為 (0,1) 上之不可測集，且定義 f(x) ＝ x if x in P,
＝ －x if x in [0,1]\P.
則 {x: f(x) ＝ α} for all α 必為可測集。
然而 {x: f(x)＞0} ＝ P. 故而 f 不為可測函數。
