Dallas’ Nowitzki Fined and Foul Upgraded

NEW YORK, May 3 – Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks has been
fined $15,000 and assessed a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two for making
unnecessary and excessive contact with Pau Gasol of the Memphis
Grizzlies, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice
President Basketball Operations.

The incident occurred with 6:11 remaining in the second quarter of
 the Mavericks 102-76 win over the Grizzlies at FedExForum on
Monday, May 1.
