DALLAS, Oct. 9 (AP) -- Josh Howard scored 18 points, Dirk Nowitzki added 13
points and eight rebounds, and the Dallas Mavericks beat the San Antonio
Spurs 88-67 on Tuesday night in the preseason opener for both teams.
