[外電] Cuban: Marion? No!!!

Mark Cuban is aware that trade speculation will continue to increase between
now and the Feb. 19 deadline, but he pulled no punches Wednesday when Josh
Howard’s name was mentioned.

"You can quote me on this," the Dallas Mavericks owner said. "I’m not
trading Josh Howard."

Cuban has always left himself an out, even when adamantly stating that he
would not trade Dirk Nowitzki. If something crazy were offered — and he
joked about a package deal for Kobe Bryant and LeBron James a few days ago —
 Cuban obviously would make the deal.

But he dismissed recent speculation that the Mavericks might be interested in
a deal sending Howard to Miami for Shawn Marion.

"We’re not trading Josh for Shawn Marion," Cuban said, "and that’s no
disrespect to Shawn Marion. He’s a great player."

Cuban said he believes Howard is a better overall player, and profoundly
better on defense. Cuban pointed out that when Howard got his fifth foul
against Philadelphia on Monday, forward Andre Iguodala more successfully
attacked the basket.

Iguodala scored the tying field goal on a drive before Nowitzki’s 17-footer
at the buzzer won the game for the Mavericks.

Dallas has listened to offers for Howard, but because of the controversies he
was involved in during the off-season and also because he has nagging ankle
and wrist injuries, the offers have been modest. As Cuban said a few days
ago: "When teams call about players, they all want bargains. We don’t give
bargains; we try to get bargains."

Teams apparently want a bargain when they ask about Howard and Cuban says
they are not getting one.

"這不是對Marion不尊重喔,他是一名好球員." Cuban說.

Cuban相信Howard 比 Marion 更加全面,且防守功夫更加出色.
