http://tinyurl.com/d2var5 Jerry Stackhouse He asked to be traded in November and hasn't played since because of lingering foot problems. He could start practicing in a couple weeks. Jerry Stackhouse asked the Dallas Mavericks to trade him in November. That might help his trade value, but most teams view Stackhouse as desirable because of his contract. He is guaranteed just $2 million next season, so he's essentially a $7-million expiring contract this season. Lots of teams are interested in that, but Stackhouse wants to continue his playing career, not just be looked at as a number. If the Mavericks wanted to take back a really bad contract, they could have traded Stackhouse long ago. It's still possible – maybe even probable – that Stackhouse will be dealt. But he may have to be packaged to make something work. Deals that might fit: To Sacramento with Erick Dampier for Brad Miller and Kenny Thomas; to Golden State with Brandon Bass for Stephen Jackson; to Chicago with Bass for Andres Nocioni; to Minnesota with Bass for Mike Miller; to Toronto with Dampier for Jermaine O'Neal. Brandon Bass A lot of teams like him and it was no coincidence that Bass played 29 minutes and had his best game of the season at Detroit on Friday. The Pistons are big fans. But Bass is a minimum-wage player this season. If he is traded, it likely would be in a package, possibly with Stackhouse. Deals that might fit: To Detroit for Arron Afflalo; to Oklahoma City with Stackhouse for Earl Watson. Josh Howard Even though owner Mark Cuban said he wouldn't trade Howard, that may have been his way of getting GMs around the league to start getting serious about their offers for Howard, which they haven't been so far. The Mavericks are perfectly happy to keep Howard. When he's good, they're usually good. If he gets completely healthy, he could be set up for a good second half. Deals that might fit: To Charlotte with J.J. Barea for Raja Bell and Raymond Felton; to Memphis with Bass for Mike Conley and Darko Milicic. Devean George, Jason Terry, James Singleton They've already traded George once, but he exercised his right to have it blocked. George is more likely to be an extra with the above pieces to make a trade work rather than a key to any specific trade. Terry has a wicked contract that goes through 2012 that not many teams are willing to touch.
