The first month of the season was a promising one for Gerald Green.

Since then, it's been a lot of sitting and practicing but not much playing in
games. It has tested Green's patience, although he already has four years in
the league and knows how to handle it.

"I'm not angry about it," said Green, 23. "It's just the every day world of
Gerald Green."

One of the reasons Green isn't upset is because he knows the bulk of his
career is still in front of him. This is no time to get a reputation as a
head case.

"I'm not going to let what's happened to me affect what I can do," Green
said. "They're making decisions, and I'm staying with it. I could be here
complaining and moaning and griping every day. I choose to still smile. I
don't want to do anything to jeopardize my future. I don't want to get a bad
rep, saying I have a bad attitude. That's never been me. And I've always had
problems [getting to play]. But I don't ever want to be a cancer to the team."

Carlisle said the staff knows what Green can do. He's been inactive most of
the time, including Saturday, but Carlisle said they would not hesitate to
put him in games in the right situations.
