Might as well. Their play a few quarters before gave the two reason to smile. Bass and Singleton both tallied career highs in points, 20 and 19, respectively, in the Mavericks’ 116-95 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. Both played the entire second quarter, with Bass collecting 16 of his points and Singleton claiming 12 of his final tally. Not only did they help extend the Mavericks lead, which grew to 70-50 at the half, but they also gave the Mavs’ starters some extra rest. “I had hoped that we could find a way to rest some of our starters who had had heavy, heavy minutes (against Houston),” coach Rick Carlisle said. “I wasn’t anticipating what happened in the second quarter but it was great for us. It just got our bench into it more.” Bass, who went 7 for 9 from the field, had no idea his second quarter was so productive. “It definitely felt good,” he said. “I just try to be ready every night and take what the defense gives me. (The Mavericks), they gave me my opportunity to play, and just been trying to build on it. That’s what you see.” Singleton, meanwhile, said he’s used practice time to avoid rust. “With practice you get great habits, and when you get to the game it carries over,” he said. “When I’m in the game, I have to perform as soon as I’m on the floor.” The opportunity was there. Bass and Singleton were just two guys who grabbed their share of it. “(Bass) played well last night and tonight and he’s had a really solid year for us. He’s making gradual, steady progress,” Carlisle said. “I love singleton. He’s always ready, and in a back to back situation, you’re looking for energy, He earned the right to stay out there.” ********************************************************************* -- Only the strong survive- Iverson ═█┘ W ● ●︵ ● ●)) <\ / \\ />>/ ╲> >> ========= http://www.wretch.cc/blog/AWEI3 ========= -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 58.114.81.64
