The possibility exists that an injured left ankle could keep Josh Howard out
of the Dallas Mavericks' lineup through the end of the month.
Howard is not with the Mavericks on a crucial four-game road trip that begins
Tuesday night in Phoenix. He remained in Dallas on Monday along with trainer
Casey Smith to review the results of his latest tests. The specialist advised
that Howard needed more tests to determine the severity of the injury and the
best course of action.
