Tim Thomas is scheduled to be in Dallas for a face-to-face meeting on Tuesday.
No deal has been finalized, but the Mavericks are expected to make an offer
to the free-agent forward following the meeting.
"We're hoping to complete a deal soon," agent Bob Myers told ESPN.com.
The Mavericks were hoping to get Thomas in the four-team deal that landed
them Shawn Marion earlier this month, but the Bulls pulled out.
The Magic became the fourth team in the swap, and Chicago bought out the
contract of Thomas when they were unable to trade him.
