The Mavericks have been on a huge run lately from 3-point range, shooting
over 35 percent from beyond the arc in five of the last eight games.
For the season, their percentage is up to almost 36 percent.
The one notable exception is J.J. Barea, who throughout his career has been a
reliable long-range threat.

Barea is 7-of-52 from 3-point land this season and he's 1-of-14 in December.
It's not surprising that in the last few games he has appeared hesitant to
hoist the 3-ball. But that's exactly the mentality that coach Rick Carlisle
doesn't want Barea to have.

"The important thing is to step into shots aggressively when they're there,''
Carlisle said after shootaround today. "When you get hot with it, great. When
you're not making as many, it's important to keep the same systematic
approach.''
