[外電] Mavericks close to signing former first-round pick Sasha

If the Mavericks' interest in Sasha Pavlovic is any indication, they clearly
are more concerned about scoring points right now than stopping opponents.

The 6-8 Serbian was the No. 19 overall pick in the 2003 draft by Utah and had
some decent seasons in Cleveland. Known as a shooter with a career
35.2-percent average from 3-point range, he's never been considered strong
defensively.

The Mavericks are planning to sign Pavlovic to a 10-day contract this week,
according to a source.

Pavlovic has not played for anybody this season. He spent last season with
Minnesota, averaging 3.7 points in 12.4 minutes. He appeared in 71 games.

Pavlovic reportedly has been working out while waiting for an opportunity to
get back into the league.

If all goes well, he will join the team Monday.
