With Ajinca's promotion to starter, Mavericks' rotation ready to welcome back 
Nowitzki

INDIANAPOLIS – The decision to start Alexis Ajinca didn't create shock
waves, at least not numerically. But it was an unequivocal success for the
psychological boost it gave the Mavericks.

  By starting Ajinca, coach Rick Carlisle got the wheels in motion for when
Dirk Nowitzki returns, which could be this weekend.

 The move pushed Shawn Marion to small forward, where he figures to spend the
rest of the season as a starter, although he still will play some power
forward when Nowitzki isn't in the game.

 That allowed DeShawn Stevenson to return to shooting guard and Jason Terry
to come off the bench, where he was very effective against the Pacers.

This is closer to the rotation the Mavericks will have to employ, with the
obvious exception of Nowitzki starting at power forward instead of Ajinca.

 And Ajinca wasn't bad. He made a nice block on Danny Granger near the basket
in the first quarter, and he did what he's supposed to do – stretch the
defense – with a midrange jumper in the third.

Carlisle said before the game that he wanted to make sure the Mavericks were
"dipping into all our resources, giving everybody a shot and making sure we
know what we have here."

By doing so, the process of returning closer to normalcy began, even though
it came in another loss. It'll take another step when Nowitzki gets back on
the court.


決定讓Alexis Ajinca先發並沒有創造出太多的驚奇，至少數據上是如此。但是這在
心理上士氣的提高是很確定的成功。

隨著Alexis Ajinca的先發，Dirk回來的時間可能就是在這個周末。

而這個調動讓Shawn Marion去打小前鋒， 他可能在接下來的球季都打先發小前鋒的
位置，雖然說當Dirk不在場上時，他還是可能會去分擔一些大前鋒的時間。

而這也讓DeShawn Stevenson回到得分後衛、Jet回到板凳的位置， 這在對溜馬的比
賽中是起了作用的。

而這樣的調度是很接近Dirk回來之後的調度。

Alexis Ajinca也打得不差，他第一節在籃框附近蓋了Danny Granger一個火鍋， 而
他也做了他應該做的:專注在防守，他還在第三節投進一個中距離。

總教練Rick Carlisle在賽前說他想要確定"竭盡所能，並且知道我們所擁有的"。

雖然這樣做可能會再換來一場輸球，但這也是為Dirk回來所做準備的另一步。
