No room for Mavs' Chandler as West All-Star reserve; Dirk named to team for 
10th consecutive year

BOSTON — It would have made for a grand story if Tyson Chandler had been
voted onto the Western Conference All-Star team as a reserve.

The game will be played in his hometown of Los Angeles, where he could have
shared the experience of his first All- Star appearance with family and
friends.

Unfortunately, the Western Conference coaches didn’t cooperate.

如果Tyson Chandler入選了今年的明星賽，那將會是他第一次在他的家鄉-洛杉磯，
參與明星賽，可以和他的家人、朋友分享這個經驗。

但是很不幸的是，西區的教練們並沒有一起選了他。

Chandler, who has averaged a double-double since Jan. 1 and has had a huge
impact on the Mavericks’ success, was snubbed in the coaches’ balloting for
West reserves in what was admittedly a stacked deck of talent for only seven
reserve slots.

Chandler自從1月1號以來，接近雙十的數據， 並且在小牛成功的戰績上給人深刻的
印象，但卻在剩餘七名西區明星板凳球員投票過程中，被教練們給冷漠了。


“The only thing I can do is put myself in a situation to be considered,”
 Chandler said. “And just to be considered is a great honor. My goal was to
make an impact on the team and change the culture of the team and help us
win. I think I’ve accomplished that.”

我唯一能做的就是讓自己能被人尊重，能被尊重是一個很棒的榮耀， 我的目標是讓

Dirk Nowitzki, as expected, was voted into his 10th consecutive All-Star
game, joining an elite crew of players with 10 consecutive All-Star nods.

Dirk一如預期地入選明星賽，這也是他連續10年入選明星賽。(灑花~~~)


Chandler was believed to have a legitimate shot at joining Nowitzki because
of a shortage of true centers in the Western Conference. Chandler, averaging
10.2 points and 9.3 rebounds for the season, has played his best ball lately,
putting up 13.6 points and 10.0 rebounds since Jan. 1.

Chandler相信可以和Dirk一起入選明星賽， 因為現在正統的中鋒在西區是非常短缺
的，而他整季10.2分、9.3籃板的數據，是他近年來最好的一年，自從2011年，更是
平均13.6分和10籃板的表現。


“He’s one of four or five guys that were absolutely deserving of being
All- Stars,” coach Rick Carlisle said. “But because it’s such a potent
year in the West, there are only so many spots.” Asked if he had difficulty
paring down his ballot, Carlisle said: “Hardest it’s ever been — by far.”

總教練Rick Carlisle說：他是我們隊上四、五個其中一個絕對有資格入選明星賽的
傢伙，但是今年在西區是如此競爭的一年，而就只有這麼多名額。 這是我當教練至
今投票時最難以抉擇的一次。


 There is a chance he could be added by commissioner David Stern as the
replacement for the injured Yao Ming , who was voted in as the starting
center by the fans. But Chandler said he remains true to what’s really
important about this season.

不過Chandler還有一個機會可以入選，那就是由David Stern點名替補姚明的位置，
姚明是今年西區明星賽先發中鋒，他已確定不會上場。 但是Chandler說他忠於什麼
才是這個球季重要的東西。


“I’m more worried about impact,” he said. “I’m not necessarily a numbers
guy because sometimes numbers can lie. If you’re numbers are high and your
team is winning, obviously you’re making an impact. If your numbers are high
and your team’s losing, to me, you’re not making an impact.”

他說：我比較擔心的是關於印象，我不必然是個依靠數據的人， 因為有時數據會說
謊，如果你的數據很高，而你的球隊戰績也不錯， 很明顯的你就能給人一個印象；
如果你的數據很高，而你的球隊卻總是在輸球，對我來說， 是不能給別人深刻的印

Griffin added to All-Star team: Blake Griffin, the Rookie of the Year
favorite of the Clippers, is going to his first All-Star game and will be
playing on his home floor at Staples Center.

快艇的菜鳥Blake Griffin也入選了全明星賽，這是他生涯第一次，而他將會在自己
球隊主場Staples Center登場。


The coaches couldn’t overlook Griffin, even though the Clippers are also
below .500. The No. 1 pick in the 2009 draft has been spectacular after
sitting out last season following knee surgery, averaging 23 points and 12.7
rebounds while compiling a half season of highlights with his array of dunks.

西區教練們並沒有低估Blake Griffin，就算快艇戰績不到5成， 這位2009年的狀元
在去年經過膝蓋受傷，在板凳坐了一整季後，至今的表現令人讚嘆， 目前平均23分
和12.7籃板，特別是他精彩的灌籃。


Pavlovic joins Hornets: A person familiar with the situation says swingman
Sasha Pavlovic will join the injury-riddled New Orleans Hornets under a
10-day contract.

 Pavlovic spent 10 games this season with the Mavericks, who went 5-1 with
him in the starting lineup. The team decided not to sign him for the
remainder of the season after he completed two 10-day deals with Dallas,
despite his instant popularity with Mavs coaches and teammates. He averaged
4.1 points in 10 games.

他也是和黃蜂簽了一張10天的合約，他本季在小牛打了10場比賽，在他最後6場先發
的比賽中，小牛打出5勝1敗的戰績，在他和小牛的第二次10天約結束後， 小牛決定
不繼續和他續約剩下的球季，儘管他非常討教練們和隊友們的喜歡。 在這10場比賽
他平均4.1分。
