Taylor: If Mavs miss Lakers in second round, they could make the NBA Finals

Columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor answered your questions in a chat Wednesday.
Here are some highlights.
Jim Spanarkel asks ... Do you think the Mavs are an elite team, and, who in
your opinion are the "elite" teams as you would define elite?
Jean-Jacques Taylor: They're one of the top teams in the NBA - look at their
record against the other elite teams in the league - but they have to do it
in the playoffs. In the last four years, they have one playoff series
victory. Boston, Miami, Chicago, LA Lakers, SA and Mavs are the best teams in
the NBA.
James Donaldson asks ... Will Dirk be in the Hall of Fame or will he be if he
gets a ring?
Jean-Jacques Taylor: Dirk is HOF player. 10 staright all-star games.
Phenomenal scorer.
andy asks ... How far in the playoffs do you think the Mavs will get?
Jean-Jacques Taylor: It depends on the matchup. If they get the Lakers in the
second round, it could end there. If they don't, they could make the NBA
Finals. The Mavs have a terrific team. The only question: Who is gonna ride
with the Dirk in the playoffs?
Al asks ... What's your take on former OU basketball star Blake Griffin's
prospects in the NBA?
Jean-Jacques Taylor: He's a beast. He's exciting. He's dynamic. He made the
Clippers relevant. No one has done that before. Even the few times they've
been good they weren't relevant.
