Hornets' Belinelli gets fined for hit on Shawn Marion

The Mavericks would have much rather had the victory, but they will have to
settle for some satisfaction after New Orleans' Marco Belinelli was fined
$10,000 by the NBA Thursday for his flagrant foul, penalty two, when he
shoved Shawn Marion at the end of a fast break during the third quarter
Wednesday night.


The Hornets' forward originally was charged with a flagrant foul, penalty
one. But NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson
announced that the call had been upgraded.


Marion came away from the play with sore ribs on his left side, but X-rays
showed no structural damage.


Marion left the game and did not return after shooting his free throws. His
status tonight against New York will not be known until closer to game time.
