When Kobe Bryant went out with a sprained left ankle with 1:52 to go in the
third quarter, the Lakers were ahead 65-63. When he returned with 6:30 to go
in the fourth quarter, the Lakers were ahead 84-75. That seven-point increase
in the deficit was the Mavericks' undoing. "That's when you have to take
advantage,'' said Jason Terry. "And we weren't able to do it.''

當Kobe Bryant在第三節只剩1分52秒扭傷左腳踝時，湖人以65:63領先。當他在第四

Through the first two minutes of the fourth quarter, the Mavericks were
shooting 39.7 percent. The closed by hitting 10 of their final 18 shots. The
Lakers went 7-of-18 (38.9 percent) in the fourth quarter, yet the Mavericks
could make up only three points of an eight-point deficit because they kept
putting the Lakers on the free-throw line.

double figures, they're likely to lose. They had three on this night.

Marion deserves special kudos. He had to play defense the bulk of the time
against Kobe Bryant and did a commendable job. Bryant was 6-of-20 from the
field. It was the rest of the Lakers that carved up the Mavericks,
particularly Andrew Bynum with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Marion also had 25
points and 12 rebounds.
