Mavericks' Shawn Marion eager for role definition

Shawn Marion wants to be a starter.

Either that, or he wants to be a sixth man.

He does not want to be both.

Shawn Marion想成為先發，不然就是一直當個替補，他不想要兼職兩個位置。


Marion, who has had a quality season but has been better as a starter than
coming off the bench, said the Mavericks have reached that point where a
decision must be made about who starts at small forward.

Shawn Marion今年有個相當不錯的球季，但是他先發一直都是比板凳還要好多， 小
牛得去思考這件事到底要如何決定。


"We got to,'' he said. "We got to decide on what we're going to do. We got to
make decisions. It's not my choice to make. But he (Rick Carlisle) has to.
And everybody still has to be ready, because you just never know.''

「我們得去決定。」Shawn Marion這樣說，「 我們得去決定我們將要做的事情，我
們得去作決定，而這不是我要做的，是教練Rick Carlisle必須去做的，而任何人都
得準備好，因為沒有人會知道是如何。」


It appears the decision has been made, for now, with Marion starting his 17th
game of the season Thursday night against Minnesota.

看起來教練暫時已經做了這個決定了，小牛在昨天對灰狼時， 讓Shawn Marion本季
第17次擔任先發小前鋒的位置。

That meant Peja Stojakovic came off the bench. So did DeShawn Stevenson, for
all of four seconds at the end of the third quarter.

這也代表Peja Stojakovic從板凳出發，還有4秒男DeShawn Stevenson。


The guess here is that the Mavericks are going to need Stevenson again at
some point. But it appears now is not that point.

這可以推測小牛在某些時刻會再次的需要DeShawn Stevenson， 但是看起來不會是
現在。


Meanwhile, Stojakovic is such a wily veteran that he knows he's going to get
the best amount of playing time in Carlisle's eyes that helps the Mavericks
win.

同時間，Peja Stojakovic是如此狡猾有經驗的球員，他知道他在總教練Rick Carlisle
眼裡將會得到最好的上場時間來幫助小牛。


"You got to be ready to play,'' Stojakovic said. "At this part of the season,
we all have the same goal and we all have to be ready. It doesn't matter how
many minutes it's going to be.''
Is he truly OK with coming off the bench?

「你得準備好上場打球，」Peja Stojakovic這樣說，「在球季的這個時候，我們都

"Probably in the past, when I was younger, I was thinking about it more,'' he
said. "But at this point, whenever your name is called, you have to be ready
to play.''

何時教練叫到你的名字時，妳都得準備好上場打球。」


Asked if his back is OK, he said: "It's good enough.''

接著他被問到回來的狀況是否還可以，他回答：相當好。
