Scouting the Lakers
Coach Phil Jackson has never been swept in the 48 playoff series he’s
coached. In fact, Jackson has never been down 3-0. … No team in NBA history
has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit. The six previous times the Lakers have
been down 3-0, they lost the series in four games. … Kobe Bryant had 36
points in the opening game but has averaged just 20 in the last two. … Pau
Gasol is averaging just 13.3 points in the series and has shot only 43
percent from the field. … The Lakers are 10-for-52 (19.2 percent) from
3-point range. … They are averaging only 89 points in the series.
