Miami Heat coach talks about defending Dirk Nowitzki, says 'there isn't a

MIAMI -- Most of the questions for the Miami Heat the last two days have been
about how the team plans to slow Dirk Nowitzki in the NBA Finals.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said after Sunday's practice that "there isn't a
magic formula to stop an MVP like that."

"He's a great player for a reason, because he can score in so many different
ways ... and he's 7 feet," Spoelstra said. "We'll have multiple guys guard
him by necessity and also because that's who we are. We'll change up things,
with different looks, and great players require that. The way we defend and
the nature of how we play, in rotations there will be different guys guarding
Nowitzki and he is a great player so he will require multiple people
defending him. Chris [Bosh] has proven to be a top two-way player in this
league and we'll have to play with our team defense behind him.

濕婆說:
"因為他很強，進攻手段多，......，而且又有七呎高，
需要的話，我們會派很多人去伺候他，我們有很多可用之兵，
我們將改變，你會看見不同的面貌，而厲害的球員都是這樣的。
我們會打得順其自然，BOSH是聯盟裡頂級的雙能球員，
我們會不惜動用整個團隊去看守Dirk。"

"We are an attacking, aggressive, physical defensive team. That won't change
in this series. Sometimes that means we'll foul because of our
aggressiveness. We'll try to limit the unnecessary unforced fouls on shot
fakes and lack of discipline and those sorts of things."

"我們是一支攻擊欲望高、具有侵略性、防守敢用身體碰撞的球隊，
在這系列賽也不會改變這樣的風格，即使有時候這種侵略性的打法會犯規。
我們會避免不必要的犯規，這些犯規可能是對方的投籃假動作、我們的散漫、
或是其他種種造成的。

Someone asked Spoelstra how you "recreate" Dirk in practice, and he said,
"You can't."

有人問濕婆有辦法創造出另一個Dirk身手的球員嗎?
濕婆說:"不可能的。"

"I don't think you can recreate him with anybody else in the league,"
Spoelstra said. "You try to review some of his tendencies. Really at this
point, you have to be who you are. You can't event anything new at this
point. We have to rely on our system, our effort and our disposition of being
aggressive and being athletic in covering them. Dealing with a great player
like Nowitzki, that's a challenge. He is a unique player."

"聯盟中不可能再練就一位有Dirk這樣身手的球員了，你試著去了解他的習性，
你會發現，你就是你，你不是他。在這個時間點了，不要妄想修改自己身上的特色，
我們靠著我們的系統、我們的努力、以及我們充滿侵略的性格、
以即活力來防守他們。

至於對付Dirk方面，只能說是個挑戰，他是獨一無二的。
