Two of the newest Mavericks arrived in town Sunday and were able to watch the
evening practice, which was scheduled to include a scrimmage.

Vince Carter and Brian Cardinal did not take part in the practice because
their paperwork had not yet been filed with the league.

Carter will not officially clear waivers until Monday afternoon, which means
that's the earliest he will be able to sign his free-agent contract. There
have been no complications with the deal and all signs point to a signing
Monday.

Carter's deal will be for the mid-level exception, which is $5 million. It
will go on the books as a three-year deal although years two and three are
only partially guaranteed.

As for Cardinal, he agreed to a one-year contract believed to be for the
veteran's minimum.

When Cardinal, Carter and Lamar Odom arrive, the Mavericks' roster will be up
to 14 guaranteed contracts, leaving one spot open.

Odom, by the way, has 48 hours to report to the Mavericks after the trade is
official. The league had still not had the trade call to finalize the deal as
of Sunday evening.

Coach Rick Carlisle said he's optimistic that once the full complement of
players is available, it won't take long for them to pick up the Mavericks'
system.

"He's got 48 hours to report,'' Carlisle said of Odom. "He certainly has a
right to report when he wants within those provisions. But when he gets here,
it won't take long to get him acclimated. He's got a very high basketball IQ.
He'll pick our stuff up very quickly because there's a lot of similarities to
a lot of the stuff they do in LA.''

Odom將在48小時完成交易，金凱瑞對球隊未來表示樂觀，認為Odom有極高的籃球IQ

將會很快的適應小牛。
