Mavericks guard Devin Harris went to New York on Monday to see the specialist
who performed Harris’ left foot surgery in August. The Mavericks say the
follow-up visit revealed no structural issues in the foot, but Harris’
 workouts will be curtailed because of soreness he’s recently had in the
foot.

“I think we’re putting the brakes on, obviously, for a little bit,”
 Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said Tuesday. “He needs a little time to heal
a little bit more, let that thing settle down.”

Carlisle said he is “light on medical details” from Harris’ visit, but
based on what the coach heard, he is not concerned.

Harris suffered a dislocated left big toe while playing with the Hawks last
season. The injury was mis-diagnosed and Harris attempted to play through it.

In July, Harris and the Mavericks agreed to a three-year, $9 million
contract. Mavericks physicians, however, discovered the severity of the toe
injury during his physical. Harris and the Mavericks re-negotiated, leaving
Harris with a one-year deal at the veteran’s minimum of $1.3 million.

Harris was cleared to return to practice on Dec. 2. A few days later, though,
he experienced pain around the toe area. The Mavericks said the visit to the
New York doctor was a previously scheduled follow-up.

“In due time, he’ll be back to the full schedule of stuff,” Carlisle said.
“He was doing some good things until he had the setback.

“With this kind of surgery, it was an unusual procedure, very
unconventional, very different kind of situation.

“It’s a situation that’s not shocking. We’ve just got to stay the course
and get it right.”

不過小牛醫療團隊發現他腳趾也傷

於是小牛與Harris重新談定內容

最後簽下一年1.3M的老將底薪
