[外電] Mavs interested in D.J. Augustin

Sources said the Mavericks have expressed interest in point guard D.J.
Augustin, who could potentially diminish the backcourt shooting void left by
the departure of Jose Calderon in the six-player deal with the New York
Knicks.

The Mavs remain optimistic about re-signing Devin Harris, but that wouldn’t
necessarily preclude them from adding Augustin, depending on the price.

Augustin, a Texas-ex who was the ninth overall pick in the 2008 draft,
revived his career after signing with the Chicago Bulls in December last
season. He averaged 14.9 points and 5.0 assists in 61 games for the Bulls,
displaying the ability to make plays as a pick-and-roll ball handler and
knock down 3-point shots (41.1 percent).

Calderon is one of the NBA’s most accurate 3-point shooters, a critical
element to the Mavs’ offensive spacing last season. One of the most
significant concerns about a Raymond Felton-Harris pairing at point guard is
that they are both below-average 3-point shooters.

Felton and Harris have also both had durability issues, so it makes sense for
the Mavs to pursue depth at point guard, particularly with a player with a
sweet perimeter shooting touch.


小牛很樂觀認為會重新簽回Harris,但也不排除簽下Augustin,一切取決於價格
先前較易出去的卡跌龍是NBA最準的3分射手之一,但肥頓跟Harris的三分命中率是在
聯盟平均值以下
尤其是肥頓跟Harris都有著耐戰度的問題
因此Augustin也很合理的進入了小牛的雷達,能適當的添增控衛的深度,
並且能夠增加小牛的三分火力
