Rashard Lewis的十件小事



Lewis went straight from Houston Alief Elsik to the NBA despite college
offers from Florida State, Kansas and Houston. He was drafted 32nd overall by
the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1998 NBA draft.

2.The Mavericks tried hard to acquire Lewis in 2002. He was greeted by a couple
hundred well-wishers at the airport, shown to his would-be locker at American
Airlines Center housing a LEWIS No. 43 jersey and treated to the sound of
faux play-by-play from Mavericks radio voice Mark Followill. Followill's
"commentary," describing a fictional Lewis' buzzer-beater to sink the Lakers,
was pumped in over the loudspeakers on a practice floor ringed by tall stacks
of blue, black and white balloons.

3.Lewis (right in photo) holds the SuperSonics' record for most three-pointers
made. He passed Gary Payton for first place on March 13, 2007, when he made
his 918th in the first quarter of a game against the Detroit Pistons. A
two-time All-Star, Lewis has averaged 14.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in his
1,049 career games.

4.On Aug. 6, 2009 while playing with Orlando, Lewis was suspended without pay
for the first 10 games of the 2009–10 season after testing positive for a
banned substance. Lewis said in a statement that he took an over-the-counter
supplement that included a substance he did not realize was banned by the
NBA. "I take full responsibility for what happened," Lewis told the Orlando
Sentinel at the time. "But I'm telling you it was an honest mistake. Look at
me, I'm still skinny as hell. Does it look like I take steroids?"

what it would have been like. The good thing is I got drafted by Seattle and
coincidentally I had a close friend at the University of Washington. My first
three years in the NBA I was on campus all day, everyday. I was living the

6.Lewis has made plenty of money, won a championship and played longer than he
anticipated. But he'd like to improve his standing on the all-time 3-pointer
list. He ranks eighth. "If you go down the list of guys who are on it, you
kind of look at yourself like,'Wow, I'm in front of this guy or I'm right
behind this guy,'" Lewis said. "That's a huge accomplishment that lets you

7.Lewis, pictured here with Washington, averaged only 4.5 points per game
during the 2013-14 regular season, but Heat coach Erik Spoelstra put him in
the starting lineup during the Eastern Conference finals against Indiana and
Lewis averaged 13.8 points over the next four games. He totaled 31 points and
nine 3-pointers in the final two games against the Pacers. "I can still be a
matchup problem like I was in Seattle," Lewis said. "The only thing that's

run in 2012-13. But he didn't complain about lack of playing time. "When you

minutes in my career. I played in two All-Star games, made a lot of money.
Being on this team has been a historical run, losing 16 games, playing with

9.The Mavericks had the opportunity to draft Lewis in 1998, but Dallas selected
Ansu Sesay with the 30th overall pick. Lewis, passed over three times in the
first round by Houston, slipped to Seattle at No. 32. Then Mavericks also
tried in vain to acquire Lewis at the February 2001 trading deadline. Don
Nelson, Mavericks coach at the time, called him "the perfect small forward
for our team."


小牛在1998年時有機會選Lewis，不過小牛最後選了Ansu Sessay。小牛在2001年二月
曾嘗試換Lewis，Don Nelson說Lewis非常適合小牛隊。


10.Tragedy struck Lewis before the beginning of the 2013-14 season when his
brother-in-law passed away at the age of 25. Lewis spent 14 days away from
the Heat before rejoining them for their final preseason game. The
brother-in-law had lived with Lewis for a period of time while he played for
Seattle and that he helped put his brother-in-law through school. - from a
