I also have the feeling that it's never too late to do anything
when I prepared the GRE writing yesterday that I read Schweitzer's biography.
We all know Schweitzer, but not the hard work behind him.
When he was 21 he dedicated himself to the study science, music,
and theology for nine years.
After that he devoted the rest of his life to serving humanity.
In 1901 Schweitzer was inspired to become a medical missionary(傳教士)
after reading a paper regarding the needs of medical missions.
He studied medicine from1905 to 1913 at university.
At that time he almost 40 years old!
He also raised money to establish a hospital in Africa
that served thousands of Africans.
Being a talented musician and a famous doctor,
Schweitzer had the chance to make a big fortune;
however, he chose to have uncomfortable life
and devoted himself to the people who were suffering.
