希伯來文名詞：單數(1)，雙數(2,-ayim)，複數(3以上,-im)

古代希伯來文習慣：天(shamayim)與海(mayim)都是雙數

最常用的上帝稱呼是"elohim"，是複數(三者以上)，而非"eloah"(單數，有人認為是雙數)
或"elohayim"(普通文法規則下最常見的雙數)；但是elohim使用的修飾與動詞是單數，
也就是希伯來文用法本身，即說明了上帝是”至少有三個位格(人格)的神，且有協調ㄧ致
的行動”；從新約希臘文聖經的描述中，否定”四個”以上的位格，告訴我們神是
”三位ㄧ體”的。

God is a family. There presently are two members in that God family, God the
Father - the Head of the family, the Lawgiver-and Jesus Christ the Son-the
Spokesman, the Creator. But the word Elohim is not just dual. There is a dual
number in Hebrew, but this would have to be Elohaim. The God family, however,
is destined to be truly plural-to have many members. And this is what the
word Elohim describes and allows for.

ELOHIM:  God (a plural noun, more than two, used with singular verbs); Elohim
occurs 2,570 times in the OT, 32 times in Gen. 1. God as Creator, Preserver,
Transcendent, Mighty and Strong. Eccl., Dan. Jonah use Elohim almost
exclusively. See Gen. 17:7, 6:18, 9:15, 50:24; I Kings 8:23; Jer. 31:33; Isa.
40:1.
