Heat players admitted they didn't expect to win nine in a row overall and 14
in a row at home -- which they did Friday without Dwyane Wade.

The Heat continued to roll Friday, beating the Kings 103-97 at
AmericanAirlines Arena to extend a season-long winning streak to nine games
and a home winning streak to 14.

The Heat turned an early five-point deficit into an 18-8 advantage with a
15-0 run in the first quarter, a spurt that ended with one of Jones'
three-pointers. Miami led by as many as 22 in the first half and easily held
off the Kings for the rest of the game.

As a team, the Heat shot 54.5 percent from the field and made 13 of 21
three-point attempts, finishing off an opponent in yet another fashion.

his team's success since Wade's injury. ``These players are solid players,

Riley said his team has been keeping the strategy simple, playing through
O'Neal in the post and Williams on the pick-and-roll. From there, the offense
is relying on a group of veterans who know how to make the right play.

''Until somebody makes that adjustment on us, we're going to continue playing

for us.''

Payton aggravated a groin strain and missed the second half. His status for
Sunday's game is unknown, but Riley said he would use rookie Chris Quinn as
the backup point guard.

minutes. Riley, however, said that could open up more minutes for Dorell
Wright, who had three blocks and four points in 16 minutes against the Kings.
