Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick in June's NBA
Draft, has signed a deal with adidas, Jim Gatto, adidas director of global
sports marketing for basketball, confirmed on Wednesday. Gatto said that the
deal was signed earlier this week, but would not provide any details
regarding the endorsement agreement.
Beasley fired his agent, Joel Bell, about two weeks ago. Gatto said that he
had been negotiating the deal with Bell earlier this summer, but finished the
deal through negotiations with Steven Reed, Beasley's business manager.
Reed, President of California-based Capital Advisors Consulting, said, "Mike
has agreed enthusiastically to endorse adidas and wear the shoe as he has
done his whole playing life."
